We made some great connections at last month's outreach events, which included a pop-up resource fair with the Wellpoint Care Network and a speaking presentation for the Center for Leadership of Afrikkan Women's Wellness at the Washington Park Senior Center, both in Milwaukee. The next Outreach Committee meeting is on Tuesday, June 16 at 6pm. If you are interested in volunteering at outreach events or joining the Outreach Committee, please email Dana for more information or with any questions. |
Outreach season is picking up! We are excited to make more connections at health fairs and community events this year. Planning has begun for our Reservation Clinic Tour, which will introduce the support and resources available through LFA, WI Chapter to underserved communities in Wisconsin. ‚Ää Join the Milwaukee Community Group on Tuesday, June 30 at 6pm for an "Ask a Rheumatologist" discussion with Dr. Justin Levinson from UW-Health. Dr. Levinson will be covering a lot, so we ask that you submit your questions in advance. Please email Betsey with your questions so that she can pass them on prior to the discussion. Nothing else about these groups has changed; they are still safe, encouraging places to confidentially share, learn, and receive support from others in your lupus community. Find a list of all Community Groups and upcoming meetings on our website. We encourage you to attend meetings of the Milwaukee and Fox Valley Area groups, as they are held virtually over Zoom during these colder months. If you or someone you know is interested in co-facilitating this group, please let us know.
