Have you been meaning to volunteer more? Teach people about lupus? Help out at our many walks?
We are pleased to offer a volunteer training session on Saturday, March 16th at our Chapter office. Below are details of each training. To be eligible for the training, please complete the electronic volunteer application and register for the event by March 1.
General Volunteer Ambassador Training
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This session will provide directives on how to represent the LFA, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter in the community at health fairs, community festivals, etc. Training will include instruction on how to describe lupus to those who are unfamiliar with the disease (including role-playing), guidelines for volunteering at health fairs and other community events, and an overview of programs, services, events, and educational materials offered by LFA.
Support Group Facilitator Training
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Those attending this session must attend the General Volunteer Ambassador Training if it has not already been taken. Being a Support Group Facilitator requires initiative, time, and a strong desire to help others living with lupus. Support Group Facilitators must organize their own support groups by finding a location and setting dates and times for monthly group meetings, and commit to hosting the group on a regular basis (our staff will assist you through this process). Please review our Support Group Facilitator Packet and Application and submit it along with your application by March 1.
