9:30 am -10:00 am: Supporting someone with lupus often means learning a lot about a disease that is mysterious to so many. How do you best support your loved one with lupus while caring for yourself? Wendy Hautzinger, MPH, will lead a panel discussion covering this and more with fellow caregivers.
10:10 am - 10:40 am: Thanks to our sponsor, GSK and Us in Lupus! Patient Engagement Liaison Cindy Fiske will discuss the basics of lupus and how to make a plan that best tracks your disease activity that works for you. She will also cover Us in Lupus, an informative platform that provides free resources to help you better manage your lupus.
10:40 am - 11:40 am: Many people say the first symptoms of lupus that led them to the doctor were visible, like hair loss and skin rashes. This panel will explore how self-image evolves when one lives with lupus. We’ll discuss questions like: How does lupus play a part in your relationship with yourself, and what are ways one can improve their self-image?
11:50 am - 12:00 pm: Thanks to our sponsor Aurinia Pharmaceuticals! You’ll learn more about the ALL IN for Lupus Nephritis program and its resources, including a brief explainer on lupus nephritis.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: (Note: This is changed from the vaccination talk, which will be given at a later date) Dr. Linda Brecher of Rowan Medicine will cover the ins and outs of bone health and how you can provide the best care for your body.
10:10 am - 10:40 am: Thanks to our sponsor Aurinia Pharmaceuticals! You’ll learn more about lupus nephritis, along with an overview of the ALL IN for Lupus Nephritis program.
10:40 am - 11:40 am: Lupus disproportionately impacts women of color, particularly Black women, and the implicit and explicit bias within the health care system may prevent them from receiving a timely diagnosis and the best care possible. In this panel discussion, we’ll discuss efforts to close this gap through education, awareness, and advocacy.
11:50 am - 12:00 pm: Thanks to our sponsor, GSK and Us in Lupus! Patient Engagement Liaison Cindy Fiske will cover Us in Lupus, an informative platform that provides free resources to help you better manage your lupus.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Local physicians in the Greater Philadelphia area will discuss the future of medicine for lupus, including drug development, treat-to-target, and more.
GSK is a science-led global healthcare company with a special purpose: to help people do more, feel better, live longer.
Us in Lupus is designed to give you more than just the facts about lupus. It's a resource designed by GSK that offers people living with lupus the skills, tools, and confidence they need to help them face lupus.
Aurinia exists to make a difference. From the earliest days of the company, we’ve seen the potential in applying a creative, thoughtful and responsible approach to developing and commercializing therapies with a goal of changing the course for patients in disease areas that have been historically challenging to address.
The Wawa Foundation champions life-saving research and care for people in need, leads hunger-relief efforts, and supports the heroes making a difference every day
