The Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Group (SLICC), a Lupus Foundation of America collaborator, reports findings from a research study that further validates The Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Frailty Index (SLICC – FI), a tool which may more accurately predict the risk of adverse outcomes among people with lupus.
While more research is needed to understand the practical use of the SLICC – FI, this study confirms that the tool does hold promise and may be a potential valuable outcome measure for future intervention (treatment) studies.
SLICC is an international network of rheumatologists and immunologists dedicated to clinical research on lupus. In 2017, The Lupus Foundation of America entered into a collaborative relationship with SLICC. The first project in this relationship is exploring steroid damage at different doses in people with lupus. Learn more about how lupus affects every part of a person’s life.
