New Lupus Nephritis Educational Video Series from the National Kidney Foundation
To help people better understand the link between systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis, (LN, lupus-related kidney disease), the National Kidney Foundation has launched a four-part video series. SLE has the potential to affect all of the body’s organs, including the kidneys, and LN is a common complication that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the kidneys.
The four-part video series is available in both English and Spanish. The videos focus on helping people understand SLE and LN and how the conditions relate to one another. Each animated video explores a specific topic: LN and the kidneys, diagnosis, lifestyle and wellness, and treatments. To facilitate understanding, the videos feature animation, music, and colorful graphics, as well as text and narration.
The Lupus Foundation of America also offers numerous resources and information on lupus, as well as educational and advocacy programs. Learn more about how lupus affects the renal kidney system.
