Prescriptions

The Lupus Foundation of America is aware of the potential use of  hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)  and chloroquine (Aralen) for the treatment of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that these drugs may be in high demand in the coming weeks. If you take Plaquenil and have not already done so, we strongly recommend that you get a 90-day supply to avoid the possibility of shortages. Due to the national emergency, most health insurance plans are authorizing early refills. If it comes up as 'refill too soon" when you try to refill your prescription, patients should ask the pharmacist for an override and it should be approved.
