Elizabeth B. - Diagnosed at age 11
I had been sick ever since I was two years old. Doctors did this and that, but they couldn't diagnose me when we were living in Windhoek, capital of Namibia. Then my dad got transferred to the northern part of Namibia, I remember waking up with a swollen face and a fatigued body. After the transfer, I got a new pediatrician, who I consider a hero since he was the one that diagnosed me with lupus at the age of 11 in 2014. Living with lupus in a developing country is difficult because the medication you need mostly is unavailable. So, my dream is just to receive proper medical assistance.
