My name is Timishea “CoaCoa” Price, When I look back, it’s ironic that I ended up working at a pharmacy. I took care of patients with chronic conditions, and I have a chronic condition myself. I was diagnosed with lupus in 2007. Lupus isn’t a condition you can see just by looking at me but every choice I make throughout the day affects me. These choices may be simple, like cooking dinner or cleaning, but they all have an impact on how I feel.

I was officially diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus in 2007 but my health journey began many years before that. I always felt exhausted. If I went out with friends on a Friday night, I would be in bed the rest of the weekend recovering. My whole body would ache and I never could get enough sleep. I thought this was just my way of life.

My lupus is currently affecting my joints, memory, neurological system which causes me to have migraine headaches and seizures. I have anxiety, as well as chronic pain in my back and legs. I experience nerve pain due to lupus. I live currently in Macon, Georgia and there aren’t many doctors here who specialize in lupus so at times it’s very frustrating to spend 2-3 weeks in a hospital when there’s no doctor to see you that can actually help with your level of care.

Despite my battle, I am proud to be the Walk Chair for the 1st Macon Walk to End Lupus Now on September 19, 2020, bringing awareness and hope to my community! I hope my story encourages many more lupus warriors to join me in our Walk to End Lupus Now in Macon!
