Brittany Wyatt, LFA Georgia Board member was hospitalized last week with pneumonia and a serious lung infection. We are happy to say that our amazing leader is home, resting and recuperating. Here is Brittany's post:

It truly takes a village...and I am SO grateful for my village!! ❤

This was completely out of the blue, as most things are with Lupus, but I was admitted into the hospital 7 days ago with fever of 105.3, pneumonia, and pleural empyema in my right lung. I had to have surgery on Friday to remove the infection which left me with a chest tube in for 3 days (very painful). I was discharged today... finally!

I'm so thankful for my village for the support and love that came my way this past week. The prayers, calls, texts, flowers, balloons, food, visits were all SO appreciated! It'll be yet another long road to recovery, but I'm committed!

Remember, May is Lupus Awareness month, and well, I don't know how else to make you any more aware! Lol...please take the time to understand, advocate and support Lupus research. Thank you! ?
