Shannon Boxx: I want a cure
Lupus is unpredictable. It strikes when you least expect. When I became pregnant after my doctor gave my husband Aaron and I the go-ahead to start a family, I was always worried about something going wrong.
That’s why I’m such a big supporter of the Lupus Foundation of America. They are working to unravel the mystery of lupus. They fund cutting edge research on lupus and pregnancy, lead national lupus awareness efforts, and advocate for increased funding into treatments and cures.
This Mother’s Day I’m asking you to join me and make a gift to the Lupus Foundation of America. You will help build a future without lupus. And when you make a gift of $100 or more, they’ll send your loved one a commemorative lupus necklace or pin.
Today, I’m the mother of Zoe, a happy and healthy two-year old, and I’m also pregnant with my second child. I have played professional soccer, winning three Olympic gold medals and the FIFA Women’s World Cup, but becoming a mother is the most rewarding experience of my life.
I want to stay healthy for my daughter. I want a cure. No one should have to live with lupus. That’s why the Lupus Foundation of America is so important to me and my family. Their work helps mothers like myself and everyone affected by lupus. Please give today.
With your gift, you will bring us one step closer to cures for this devastating disease.
