Brenna V. - Diagnosed at age 45

Years ago I was caught off guard and blindsided when lupus flared. One day I was fine and the next covered with a rash, battling high fevers, and needed help walking due to joint pain. It took me three months to fully recover. It was a turning point in my life. A blessing and a curse. I could hide or face it. My struggle turned to strength. I gave myself the time and the grace needed to learn how to cope. What tried to break me led me to my passion to help others cope. I define me.
