Exploring the Benefits of Yoga Therapy for Lupus
A new study explores yoga therapy for people with lupus. Study participants saw increased balance, body awareness and a tolerance for faster-paced yoga instruction. Yoga teachers with lupus also participated in the study and successfully modified exercises based on energy levels and changes in disease activity. The researchers concluded that yoga appears to be safe and adaptable to the needs of people with lupus, and more formal research is needed to understand non-pharmacologic treatments in lupus.
