Natasha W. - Diagnosed at age 16
Hi, my name is Natasha, aged 24, was diagnosed with Systemic Erythematosus Lupus in December 2014 at age 16. I had butterfly rushes, abdominal swelling, jaundice and inflammation of the joints caused by arthritis among many. My first major flare up was back in 2020 where I lost my insurance and was left to survive on charity care. Later on, I was diagnosed with hepatopulmonary syndrome after I suffered pneumonia.
I have been on a liver transplant waiting list, for almost two and a half years now. My hope is to reach out to as many immunocompromised patients and friends who experience fatigue, and tiredness every day to let them know we are all in this together and someday hopefully we get a cure❤️.
