Personal Stories
Elizabeth A. - Diagnosed at age 10
I was diagnosed when I was ten years old, which was a rare case being so young, and I am now almost fifty years old. I have suffered many hardships throughout my life. Some examples are: high doses of prednisone and gaining a lot of weight from it, losing my hair, always having to wear a hat in the sun due to flare-ups, kidney disease, shingles at twenty-one, trial and error with Plaquenil, Celcelpt, Gabapentin, Cytoxan, etc., and the worst and most recent - Trigeminal Neuralgia, which no one believed I had!
I have many personal experiences to share, almost like a spokesperson for lupus awareness. I really can go on and on. I feel I can help a lot of people with so many lupus experiences.
