Christine P. - Diagnosed at age 15

My name is Christine, and at the age of 15 I was diagnosed with lupus. Living with lupus has never been easy for me. There are days where I am so fatigued, my joints hurt. I get headaches, an upset stomach, and rashes on my leg in the summer time. It’s like being sick every day. Since day one, my hair has not stopped falling out. It’s getting thinner and thinner. Now lupus is impacting my future because I’ve been told that I have osteonecrosis in my left hip, and my right hip is getting there as well. It gives me hope that there are doctors out there, and great specialists who study and see patients for years to manage their daily life. I am thankful for those specialists who take the time to study lupus, so that patients with lupus have advice and options, and don’t feel alone or lost.
