Amina K. - Diagnosed at age 14

My name is Amina and I am from the Netherlands. I've been diagnosed with lupus since I was 14 years old. A year before I was diagnosed, my father became ill. He was diagnosed with Vasculitis also an auto-immune disease.

In the past 9 years, I have had 2 major relapses - they we're close to being fatal for me. I've had chemo in the past. Here in the Netherlands lupus isn't that big of a deal. Not many people are aware off the disease. The road of being sick, has been lonely. But since I got sick I realized that lupus.org did a lot of things. I've educated myself enough to understand how lupus works.

I hope one day I’ll be able to fly to the States, and meet more people that are dealing with this illness. I would love to get involved.
