Understanding Fatigue in Lupus: Study Promotes Looking Beyond Skeletal Muscle
As many as 80 percent of people with lupus experience fatigue and it is unclear why extreme fatigue is prevalent. Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology, researchers investigated the role of skeletal muscle in fatigue experience. The study found that people with lupus experiencing fatigue do not exhibit significant abnormalities in skeletal muscle and suggests further research to explore other contributing factors.
