Lupus Foundation of America Statement on Final Medicare Part D Rule
Yesterday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rolled back proposed changes to the Medicare Part D six protected classes. This is a great win for the lupus community. Specifically, we applaud CMS for listening to our concerns that for people living with lupus the proposed policy change could have reduced patient access to drugs vital to treating lupus and possibly lead to complications associated with an interruption of care. We look forward to advancing our work with Congress and the Administration to reduce drug costs for our nation’s seniors.
