I had surgery in 2018 to have a myomectomy because I had uterine fibroids removed! I underwent a blood transfusion for survival and ever since then I was experiencing headaches, swelled joints, shortness of breath, fatigue and anxiety!

My doctor couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was until 3 years later. I had blood work done and the rheumatologist confirmed SLE lupus! It was the biggest shock of my life but instead of being sad, I’m using myself as a service to live, learn and teach people about this mysterious disease. I also became a team captain for the LA Walk for 2022. This work is just beginning. 💜🦋
