My senior year of high school I was diagnosed with lupus. It took almost 3 months before I was diagnosed and I couldn't find a good specialist that would see me in my own city due to my insurance. My fingers started to hurt a lot and so did my knees. I was on steroids and in so much pain for a very long time. I even missed my prom due to the amount of pain I was in. Once I was diagnosed I started treatment right away. My parents even changed my insurance so that we could see a doctor back home. It's been almost 2 years since I've been living with lupus and I live my life normally with love, laughter, and joy.
