Thank You Walk To End Lupus Now Walkers and Supporters!
Last month, the Pacific Northwest came together for the annual Walk To End Lupus Now held in both Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. We came together to celebrate the progress in lupus research and awareness that is being made, as well as pay tribute to those we love, those we have lost, and all those who have been touched by lupus. You motivate us to ensure research continues, every person touched by lupus has access to the services and support they need, and that we make lupus a national priority. We came together to put faces and voices to this disease and convert our pain into action. We know you have made a difference and we know you will continue to work tirelessly until the cruel mystery of lupus is solved. Every dollar raised from Walk to End Lupus Now advances this mission and we are so thankful for your support.
The Portland Walk To End Lupus Now was held on September 23rd, 2017 at Oaks Park in Southeast Portland. We were honored to host 233 Walkers mostly from Oregon, but as far away as Grain Valley, Missouri and Amherst, Texas. We welcomed nearly 50 individuals into our Club100, celebrating their achievement of raising over $100 for this cause. Four amazing individuals were welcomed as Trailblazers to end lupus, raising over $1,000 individually, thank you for your dedication:
We want to also give a special thank you to a truly astonishing young woman, Taryn Miller, who worked tirelessly with Joanna Sherwin to put on a great event. The Portland Walk To End Lupus Now raised an incredible $23,893 that will be invested in programs of research, education, support, and advocacy.
The Seattle Walk To End Lupus Now was held on September 16th, 2017 at the beautiful Gas Works Park overlooking Puget Sound. We were honored to host 371 Walkers from as far away as Cosa Mesa, California and Ontario, Canada.
