About Us

The Lupus Foundation of America, Northeast office is an office of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. national organization which has its headquarters in Washington, DC.  The Northeast office provides  programs and services to people living within the greater New York City metro area and Connecticut.

The Northeast office is part of a national force devoted to solving the cruel mystery of lupus while providing caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact.   We work with local health professionals and volunteers to provide information and programs to ensure people with lupus and their families get answers and health professionals know about new means to diagnose and manage the disease.

With the help of informed volunteers and committed supporters, we conduct activities to increase awareness of lupus, we rally support for those who are affected by lupus and advocate on their behalf, and we raise money to support research and education programs so everyone affected by lupus can have an improved quality of life.

Lupus Foundation of America Programs and Services

The Lupus Foundation of America convenes lupus experts, implements strategies, and deploys resources to help solve the cruel mystery of lupus and end its brutal impact through a comprehensive program of research, education, and advocacy.

Across the nation, our programs and services all have a common purpose: To improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus.  We bring together all stakeholders with an interest in lupus to:

  • Lead special research initiatives, fund innovative studies, and advocate for increased public and private investment in lupus research to advance the science and medicine of lupus.
  • Translate research findings into useful programs, information, and tools for people with lupus, and for health professionals to ensure they know about new means to diagnose and manage lupus.
  • Aggressively conduct outreach efforts to increase public understanding of lupus, and share stories of those who suffer from lupus, through national awareness campaigns, celebrity engagement, and online and social marketing.
  • Provide caring support and referrals to people with lupus, their families and their caregivers, and help guide them through the complexities of living with lupus.
