Host an Event to Benefit the Lupus Foundation of America, Mid-South Chapter

Thank you for choosing to support the Lupus Foundation of America, Mid-South Chapter (LFAM). Hosting a lupus event in your community is a great way to spread awareness about lupus and to raise funds for the Mid-South Chapter so we can continue our mission to improve the lives of all those affected by lupus.

See which opportunity below best fits what you have in mind for your event.

THIRD PARTY EVENTS

Third party events may include events such as concerts, 5Ks, bike rides, poker runs, or other large-scale fundraising events independently hosted by volunteers to benefit the Mid-South Chapter.

In order to publicize your event as an official Mid-South Chapter third party event, it must meet the following criteria:
• Anticipate a net donation of $1,000 or more to the Mid-South Chapter
• Obtain and present proof of comprehensive general liability insurance
• Require participants to sign a waiver if there is a physical activity element (like a run or walk)
• Complete the third party event form and receive written approval from LFAM

If your third party event is approved, LFAM will provide the following:
• Use of LFAM logo
• Assistance with promotion of the event via social media and internet marketing
• Materials to distribute at the event

For additional questions or assistance, call (877) 865-8787 or email info@lupusmidsouth.org.

INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Independent community events are a way to host an event that does not meet the criteria listed above for an official third party event but that supports lupus survivors and LFAM while raising awareness in your community. Independent community fundraising events may include events such as a fish fry, yard sale, or bake sale.

For community fundraising events, you may say that your event proceeds benefit lupus research and/or services, but you may not use the LFAM logo or name in your promotions.  In order to keep track of all the fantastic events going on in our service area, we would appreciate you completing the independent community fundraising event form. You can download the form here.

Once we receive your form, we can send you 25 educational rack cards free of charge for you to distribute at your event. You are also welcome to purchase additional materials—extra rack cards, bracelets, buttons--- from LFAM at cost.

If you plan to make your event an annual affair as your event grows in size, LFAM is happy to discuss with you the possibility of turning your event into an official third party event in the future.

HEALTH FAIR

Health fairs provide an important opportunity to raise awareness about lupus and spread the word about Mid-South Chapter resources and events. If your company, school, place of worship, or community center conducts a health fair where our participation would be appropriate, please download the health fair application here and complete it.  If possible, LFAM will send a representative to staff a table or booth or will provide education materials and signage on lupus.
