Hi, my name is Lilian Tackett and I was diagnosed with lupus when I was four. It took 2 years to get that diagnosis. It all started when I was 2 years old and woke up with a swollen ankle. My rheumatologist, Dr. Syed put me on medication to help with it and I had to wear braces on my feet so I walked correctly. Dr. Syed then witched me from taking prednisone to taking Plaquenil. I used to take methotrexate pills but that made me get sick so now I take a shot every week. I have to get blood work done every month to make sure I’m responding to the medication ok. My blood work has been so good this year that Dr. Syed let me play the whole season of soccer. I loved it! I may have lupus, but lupus won’t get me…..I’m a kid!!!!
