Thirty-One Faces of Hope: Dr. John Goldman

The lupus community includes people living with lupus, friends, family and supporters across Georgia. For Lupus Awareness Month, we would like to highlight some of our lupus heroes and champions.

Dr. John Goldman

“Advocacy is important, not only for research and finding therapies to treat lupus, but also being able to get treatments for our patients,” according to Dr. John Goldman, Co-Chair of LFA, Georgia Chapter’s Medical Advisory Board and a member of our Board of Directors. His involvement with the foundation goes back to 1975 when a group gathered at a community center in Atlanta to put together the framework of the Atlanta Chapter of the Lupus Erythematosus Foundation, which would later become the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter.

Dr. Goldman is a fierce advocate and encourages his patients to get involved in our advocacy efforts. One example is Monic Thornton who served as the volunteer lead for our Thirty-One Faces of Hope campaign this month.

Thank you, Dr. Goldman, and Monic! We are grateful for the leadership, dedication, and inspiration as we take lupus from a whisper to a shout 365 days a year.
