The well being of our patients is our highest priority. Due to COVID-19 and in accordance with CDC guidelines, all support will be held via teleconference until further notice.
Important Note: Our Support Network is essential to all the chapter’s efforts, working tirelessly to support patients, our programs and events and advocate for awareness. On any given weekend, you can find our support group members at health fairs across the state, spreading awareness and sharing our resources.
Our facilitators represent an outstanding group of volunteers who understand the issues that challenge individuals with lupus. Our support groups are often times the first valuable resource for both newly diagnosed and those who feel they are living with this disease without the understanding of friends and family.
Please contact the Support Group leader or the LFA, Georgia Chapter office (770-333-5930) prior to meetings to confirm meeting dates and times.
The telephonic support group is available via a toll-free conference call, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7:00-8:00 pm.
Register to receive call-in information and an email reminder. Be sure to read the confidentiality rules below before registering. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions, or call our office at 770-333-5930.
If you have questions, concerns, or would like to speak with a support group leader in the meantime, please contact the Chapter office at 770-333-5930.
- A support group is not designed to provide professional psychotherapy or counseling. Support group facilitators have a desire to help others. All facilitators have received special training by a professional in how to provide support in a nonthreatening environment. Some are trained professionals. Although this is not a therapy group, out of respect for participants, confidentiality is a must. All information and dialogue is confidential and shall not be discussed or revealed outside the group.
- The opinions and statements expressed by the group members or its facilitator do not necessarily reflect the opinions or positions of the Lupus Foundation of America or its affiliated Chapters.
- LFA, the Chapter, the support group facilitator, nor support group members shall share support group member information with outside organizations, companies, the media, or individuals. Member contact information will only be used to notify an individual of any changes to future support group meeting times and location unless members choose to join the LFA or LFA Chapter mailing and e-newsletter distribution list.
