Why I Walk: Martha Ortega
I have been suffering with Lupus for a little over a year now. It runs in my maternal side. This condition has made my health deteriorate; it has changed my life -- the way I live, the way I breathe, the way i eat. I still am learning a lot about Lupus and its impact on my life and my family who also suffer with me.
I pray to God that none of my four daughters or my grandchildren or siblings ever get this condition. I have yet to learn fully what it means to live with Lupus. I wish I was never was diagnosed with Lupus but know that I have to alter my life because of it. I feel bad for all of us who suffer as a result. I have family and friends who live with this debilitating disease.
