Clinical Trials

Center for Clinical Trial Education (CCTE)
The Lupus Foundation of America’s Center for Clinical Trials Education is a comprehensive search tool for clinical trials and the resource for people with lupus and their families who want to learn about clinical trials.

The EMBODY program is a clinical research study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational study medication called epratuzumab in people with moderate to severe lupus. While enrolled in the study, you may be allowed to continue taking your current lupus treatments. At the conclusion of your participation, you may be able to enroll in an extension study where everyone will receive epratuzumab at no charge for up to 2 additional years

The ILLUMINATE research studies are designed to evaluate a new investigational study medication for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the most common form of lupus. The ILLUMINATE studies are being conducted in approximately 500 sites in 44 countries around the world and 2280 individuals will be enrolled worldwide.
