Thousands in Los Angeles to Show Support for Those Affected by Lupus

This September, thousands of people throughout Los Angeles and the surrounding area will experience first-hand the power of the movement to end lupus. The Walk to End Lupus Now™ Los Angeles will take place at 6 p.m. at LA Live.

Lupus has no known cause and no known cure. Despite its widespread prevalence, lupus research funding and awareness of its brutal impact remain low. The largest lupus walk program in the country, the Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now™ events bring communities together to raise awareness of the disease and rally public support for lupus research and education programs.

“We must ensure that all Los Angeles county residents affected by lupus have access to the resources and support they need and have the support of their community behind them,” said Wendy Rodgers, Los Angeles Walk to End Lupus Now™ event chair. “By coming together to raise funds and awareness, Los Angeles county residents are showing their power and commitment to putting an end to lupus.”

We are thrilled to be joined by our celebrity awareness ambassador Ian Harding. Ian will attend the opening ceremonies and join walkers at the starting line, rallying thousands of people with lupus, family and friends joining us to put an end to lupus.

The walk is made possible with the generous support of its sponsors, including: Aurinia Pharmaceuticals and Sun West Bank Foundation.
