Walk to End Lupus Now™ Arizona Celebrates 5th Year

This September, hundreds of Arizona residents will experience first-hand the power of the movement to end lupus at the Walk to End Lupus Now™ Arizona at 9:00 a.m. on September 16 at Paradise Valley Mall.

Funds raised from the Walk are used to further education and support programs, advocacy initiatives, and research to improve the quality of life for those suffering from lupus. Lupus has no known cause and no known cure. Despite its widespread prevalence, lupus research funding and awareness of its brutal impact remain low.

"The Walk to End Lupus Now is not just only a Walk, but a great way to spread awareness about this cruel and mysterious disease,” said Toni Grimes, lupus advocate and spokesperson. “Since 2013, I have participated in Arizona's Walk in some form or fashion and its walkers have become my family. The Walk has been a stepping stone to help raise much needed money for research to put an end to lupus".

The largest lupus walk program in the country, the Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now™ events bring communities together to raise awareness of the disease. Funds from the Walk are used to support an annual Living & Learning Event in Arizona.

The Walk is made possible with the generous support of its sponsors, including: Aurinia Pharmaceuticals and Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Research, P.L.L.C.
