Lupus Awareness Month

May is Lupus Awareness Month.

This Lupus Awareness Month, join the Lupus Foundation of America in efforts to raise the understanding of lupus and secure support for expanded medical research.

Lupus is more pervasive and more severe than people think, and has an impact that the public doesn't realize. In fact, research shows that nearly two-thirds of the public knows little or nothing about lupus. You can help change that!

Ways to Participate:

Put On Purple for Lupus Awareness!
Get your Starter Kit for all the materials you need to help raise awareness for lupus this May, including Put on Purple Day on May 17th!

You may download the entire Starter Kit, or just the individual pieces that interest you. If you would like to request that a Starter Kit be mailed to you, please contact the Chapter office at 866-517-5070 or info@lupustristate.org.

Participate in the SLE Self-Help Course.
The SLE Self Help Course is a five week program designed to teach people with lupus how to take a more active part in their health care and live better with this chronic disease.

Topics include: basic medical information about lupus, medications and treatments, exercise, doctor-patient communication, fatigue management, and relaxation and stress management techniques.
