Welcome to the Lupus Foundation of America, North Texas Chapter. This website was created to provide you with the latest information about lupus. Whether you are a patient, family member, or a medical professional, this site will provide you with information on our educational programs and other services.

Lupus is difficult to diagnose and it remains one of the most misunderstood diseases because it mimics many other diseases before a final diagnosis is made based on long-term documentation of medical history and symptoms, in addition to the interpretation of laboratory tests that are indicative of a lupus diagnosis.

Approximately 115,000 Texans are living with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and tissue damage to many parts of the body, including the skin, joints, blood and blood vessels, heart, lungs, kidneys and brain. Our chapter serves 122 counties in the North Texas area.

In addition to providing you with accurate information, our goal is to improve the quality of life for the lupus patient and support research to find the cause, better treatments, and ultimately a cure for this devastating disease.

The North Texas Chapter depends greatly on the support of volunteers, physicians, and community partners that donate their time, knowledge and resources to bring public awareness of lupus to the North Texas communities.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Sincerely,

Tessie Holloway, President and CEO
