There is an urgent need to increase public awareness of lupus and its consequence among those at greatest risk for the disease.

Awareness Campaign

The Lupus Foundation of America seeks to improve public awareness and understanding of lupus and its impact on individuals and families. The LFA conducts ongoing campaigns to bring greater attention and resources to lupus.

As the foremost national nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to lupus, the LFA and its network of nearly 300 chapters and support groups, along with dozens of partners -- government, industry, professional associations, and other related nonprofit organizations -- distribute information about lupus through the media and other means.

LFA uses a comprehensive strategy to increase awareness of lupus including: public service announcements, media outreach, enewsletters, this Website and other locations on the Internet, health fairs and tradeshow exhibits, and conferences and meetings.

The LFA is THE source that media representatives, policy makers, and the public turn to for reliable, timely, and medically sound information about developments in lupus research and treatment.
