Welcome to the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA). The LFA empower and mobilize people to help others to not only manage lupus, but to continue actively living their lives. We’re here to help people with lupus. Would you like to be part of our work? We’d love to have you join us.

Community Programs, Services and Events

Get involved with LFA events in your community, including Walk for Lupus Now™. Offer direct assistance to local lupus patients and their families through chapter programs.

Support Group Leader
• Trained by Lupus Foundation on support group philosophy & foundation services
• Works with foundation staff to set agenda and speakers
• Facilitates a meeting that has a flexible agenda
• Encourages members to speak freely and support each other
• Provides Lupus Foundation educational materials
• Answers questions about the Lupus Foundation services

Telephone Buddy
• Trained by Lupus Foundation on support group philosophy & Foundation services
• Helps those affected by lupus through phone support
• Explains and offers Lupus Foundation services
• Provides Lupus Foundation educational materials

Advocacy & Legislation

Become a Lupus Advocate -- Make your voice heard today. Tell your lawmakers why increased lupus research funding is important to you. Whether through a letter, fax, email message, phone call, or face-to-face meeting with your U.S. Representative or Senators, you can help educate government officials about lupus. You do not have to be an expert in government affairs. Just share your knowledge about lupus and its impact. Tell your elected officials that they need to take action now to address this devastating disease. Add your name and address to our mailing list and receive periodic updates on legislation important to people with lupus.

Administrative Opportunities

Provide assistance in the local office by offering help with mailings, data entry, or other administrative duties.
