There are Many Volunteering Opportunities!
Support Group Facilitator:
Volunteers are asked to attend a one-day training session. The Facilitator oversees the group, solicits help from other group members to obtain speakers, manage a "telephone tree," and other duties deemed necessary. This is a one to three year commitment.
Support Group Co-Facilitator:
Volunteers are asked to attend a one-day training session. The Co-Facilitator assists the Group Facilitator. The Co-Facilitator will also oversee the group in the event that the Facilitator can not attend. This is a one to three year commitment.
Budget & Finance Committee:
The Budget & Finance Committee oversees the income and expenses of the Chapter. The committee meets on a quarterly basis. This is a one year commitment.
Public Relations Committee:
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for PR for all of the Chapter's seminars, meetings, and fund-raising events. The committee meets on a quarterly basis. This is a one year commitment.
Walk Committee:
The Fundraising Committee is responsible for initiating and executing fundraising activities that benefit the Lupus cause. This is a one year commitment.
Speaker's Bureau:
These volunteers make speeches and presentations at Chapter and Community events. This is a one year commitment.
Advocacy Day:
These volunteers will be responsible for planning the first Advocacy Day. The goal of this group is to alert the state and federal legislatures of the importance of support for people with lupus related to access to affordable health care, medications and treatments. This campaign will also include advocating for access to lupus educational seminars and understandable, written information for people with lupus, their families, friends and their health care providers.
