Ways to Give
Too often, living a life with lupus is a reality filled with discouragement and a sense of hopelessness for our patients and their families. Of the 80,000 people living with lupus in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, many are in our most vulnerable populations, and we anticipate that the impact of the Patient Navigator Program on those without ready access to healthcare will be greatest. That impact though will be felt with everyone we serve. Anyone who reaches out to us through participation in events and workshops or by phone, email or in person will gain from sustained and repeated contact with the Patient Navigator.
Our Patient Navigator program will promote long-term, systemic changes in how lupus patients manage their health. It will be a resource for anyone impacted by the effects of lupus. Through the program we will provide additional educational offerings that are accessible to a broader audience. We will also perform on-going follow-up care with workshop attendees so that life lessons are learned and better practices become the patient’s preferred way of dealing with life with lupus.
Please make a contribution now that will immediately double in size. The Patient Navigator Program will be a model program that can be replicated around the country. We are seeing a growth in interest in lupus and a simultaneous need for the excellent information and education that LFA- DC/MD/VA provides. With your help we can offer access to all to that information and education. Lupus is often life-altering, but by helping LFA-DC/MD/VA offer early access to good health education, you help insure that lupus does not become life-threatening for those who must live a lifetime with lupus.
