We were able to present to the LFA‘s Research Initiative a check for $23,275.00. These funds are a result from the “Walk for Lupus Now” held on October 13, 2007. This year the national office of the LFA has received more grant applications than ever before. Our chapter’s donation will fund one of those exciting grants.
· The Lupus Genetics Research Project at the University of California San Francisco Department of Medicine - This study seeks to identify the genetic and environmental causes of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), also known as lupus.
· Dedicated Phase I - A modern 21,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to completing healthy and special population trials.
