WALK FOR LUPUS NOW

The Walk for Lupus Now was held at the Alaska Dome on September 19, 2009. Thank you to everyone who helped make the inaugural event such a success!

Walk for Lupus Now was held in Anchorage on September 19th! Making a difference starts with one step. Thanks go out to our sponsors, our donors, our participants and team captains, our volunteers, and our committee members for taking steps to raise awareness of lupus and support much-needed lupus programs and research. We are VERY PROUD of our inaugural Walk for Lupus Now™.

For more information about this event, please visit our website at www.alaskawalk09.kintera.org. Donations will be accepted through October 15th.

Event Data:

  • The event raised over $36,000 in donations and grants.
  • There were 125 walkers, 222 donors, 8 sponsors, and 15 teams.
  • The Walk for Lupus Now posters, advertisements, Facebook posts, and tweets on Twitter reached thousands of Alaskans.
  • The LFA Alaska Chapter was able to establish new relationships with media, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and UAA students (both pre-med students and members of the Alpha Omega Fraternity).

This event was held thanks to the generous support of KeyBank, the Alaska Dome, the Alaska Club, Alaska Printing, Alaska Serigraphics, Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union, ConocoPhillips, and CRW Engineering.

Here are just a few photos from the event. We wish we could have gotten photos of all of our teams.... Please don't hesitate to submit your photos from the Walk for Lupus Now to debg.lfa@gmail.com.
