SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS 

ANCHORAGE - Third Saturday of Each Month 

Our Anchorage support group meetings are generally held on the third Saturday of each month from 1 - 3 pm. If you cannot travel to Anchorage and would like to participate via conference call, please contact us for conference calling information. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to call if you have any other questions or concerns (call 338-6332 in Anchorage, or 800-307-5878 from anywhere in Alaska). We look forward to seeing you or talking with you at our support group meeting!

SCHEDULE:   

  • There will be no support group held in March.
  • The April support group meeting will be held on Saturday April 17th.

WHERE: The Lupus office located in the City Center Mall (on the corner of Tudor and Old Seward Highway).

WHEN:   From 1 pm until 3 pm. Snacks and drinks are provided.

 

WALK FOR LUPUS NOW™

The 2nd Annual Walk for Lupus: Join us at the Alaska Dome

on Saturday September 18, 2010.

The first Walk for Lupus Now™ was held in Anchorage on September 19th, 2009. Please join us on September 18th, 2010  to help make a difference in the lives of Alaskans living with lupus. Making a difference starts with one step. We thank you for taking steps to raise awareness of lupus and support much-needed lupus programs and research.

2009 Event Data:

  • The event raised over $36,000 in donations and grants.
  • There were 125 walkers, 222 donors, 8 sponsors, and 15 teams.
  • The Walk for Lupus Now posters, advertisements, Facebook posts, and tweets on Twitter reached thousands of Alaskans.
  • The LFA Alaska Chapter was able to establish new relationships with media, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and UAA students (both pre-med students and members of the Alpha Omega Fraternity).

The 2009 event was held thanks to the generous support of KeyBank, the Alaska Dome, the Alaska Club, Alaska Printing, Alaska Serigraphics, Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union, ConocoPhillips, and CRW Engineering.
