App Assists Transition from Pediatric to Adult Lupus Care

Dr. Miriam KaufmanTransitioning from pediatric to adult care for adolescents with lupus presents a unique set of challenges.  Recently the Lupus Foundation of America awarded the Lucy Voden Research Grant to Dr. Miriam Kaufman, Head of the Adolescent Medicine Department at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto for development of an app to help young people with lupus make the transition to adult care.  In this podcast, Dr. Kaufman describes some of the transition challenges that the app will address and the app's development process.
