If you have a desire to invest your time and talents to have a positive impact on the lives of people with lupus, we have just the place for you. You can make the difference in the life of someone who is affected by this disease—you can be the person who provides help and hope to someone!
Local Lupus Meeting Leaders (Application at the Bottom of this Page)
If you are interested in becoming a Local Lupus Meeting Leader in your community please fill out this application. Once you have filled it out you may scan and email it to: email@example.com OR drop it in the mail to: 3839 Merle Hay Road Suite 222 Des Moines, IA 50310 At this time we are looking for leaders in Davenport, Dubuque, Iowa City, Mason City, Waterloo, Ames, Sioux City, Bettendorf, and Council Bluffs.
Volunteering for the LFA, Iowa Chapter means you have an opportunity to help people while you fulfill your own. When you volunteer, you can:

Volunteer to Make a Difference!
Whether it’s visiting someone with lupus in the hospital, putting together a team for the Walk To End Lupus Now™, or advocating increasing funding for lupus research, there are many ways you can get involved in the LFA’s mission. Many volunteers with the LFA, Iowa Chapter support the programs listed below. Each program supports one of our top priorities and provides support to someone who needs our help. Help build the organization by recruiting and training Board members.
Offer direct assistance to people living with lupus and their families through programs like support groups, government advocacy, educational seminars, community outreach, and more.
Help make our voices heard today, be a spokesperson, help with the newsletter or website, or help with health fairs.
Get involved with chapter events in your community.
• Walk To End Lupus Now™: Volunteers are needed to plan and to hold our annual Walk To End Lupus Now. The Walk To End Lupus Now is the signature fundraising event for the LFA. Our chapter receives vital support from this event. Be a part of the fun and fellowship during this great event!

Help us plan for our present as well as our future.
Provide assistance in our chapter office by offering help with mailings, data entry, or other administrative duties. There are a variety of organizational, clerical, and administrative tasks that we need volunteers to help us with. We are located at 3839 Merle May Road, Suite 222. We would love your help. Please let us know in advance if you are planning to come in to the office so we can be properly prepared.
