Support Groups

Support opportunities are being developed throughout the state

The philosophy of LFA support groups is to provide a warm and caring environment where people with lupus, their family members, caregivers, and loved ones can share their experiences, methods of coping, and insights into living with lupus.  LFA support groups encourage and accept people as they are and provide a comfortable learning environment to help them develop the best coping strategies to reduce stress that often accompanies living with a chronic illness.  The Lupus Foundation of America, Indiana Chapter is fortunate to have professionally-trained volunteers to offer support to lupus patients, friends, and family members throughout the state. Receive a welcome packet at your first meeting with lots of resources and information.

We are proud to provide "Living with Lupus" support groups in the following communities:

  • Anderson
  • Bloomington
  • Crown Point
  • Fort Wayne
  • Greenfield
  • Indianapolis East, Indianapolis North, and Indianapolis West
  • Kokomo
  • Lafayette
  • South Bend

Do you have experience to share?

Our Chapter continues to seek dedicated volunteers throughout Indiana interested in becoming lupus support group facilitators. We are currently in need of co-facilitators in Bloomington, Evansville, Kokomo, Otterbein, South Bend, Valparaiso and southeastern Indiana. The ideal facilitator candidates should have some social services or healthcare background, but this is not a requirement. A passion to serve and modest time commitment is necessary. Interested candidates will be asked to complete a LFA, Indiana Chapter volunteer application, complete a telephone interview, and attend a facilitator training workshop. Interested candidates should contact Debbie Campbell by email,
