Ask your Representative to Support Lupus Research and the National Institutes of Health

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the largest funder of lupus research. Congress must be willing to invest in vital biomedical research if we are to solve the cruel mystery of lupus.

Lupus is a complex disease that impacts each organ system and each person differently. Research in lupus has come a long way, but there is still so much work to be done. People with lupus need and deserve an arsenal of safe and effective treatments, and we are only going to get there if basic, translational and clinical research in lupus is well-funded.

Representatives David McKinley (R-WV) and Susan Davis (D-CA) are spearheading efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives asking their fellow members of Congress to support at least $32 billion in funding for the NIH in Fiscal Year 2015.

Take action today! Contact your Representative and ask them to sign on to this important, bipartisan letter stressing the importance of funding the NIH. Lupus research will benefit from increases and support of the NIH.
