2013 Night of Hope Gala
The 2013 Night of Hope Gala will raise more than $148,000 for the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, creating awareness and hope for the 55,000 Georgians living with lupus. This inspiring celebrationheld on Friday November 1, 2013 at the Mason Murer Art Gallery includes fabulous food, auctions, live entertainment and a mission call.
The evening highlighted our distinguished 2013 honorees: Pat and Sherry Henry, who received the Mary Cann Achievement Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. The Tomica Gill Courage Award recipients were Kathi Caldwell and Kelly Reynolds in memory of their sister, Bonnie Ta Hunyh.
Ninety percent of every dollar donated to the Night of Hope Gala stays in Georgia to ensure the Chapter continues to provide and expand the only valuable free educational programs, advocacy and awareness efforts. These programs include symposiums, teleconferences and support groups reaching new communities and patients across Georgia.
We also support the national research efforts funding and advocating for investment in lupus. The chapter is a lifeline and a voice of hope increasing lupus awareness.

Lupus is difficult to diagnose and is very misunderstood
in the medical and lay community.
- Lupus is three times more likely to strike minorities, including African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians.
Lupus affects more than the combined number of those
