LFA works with a reputable car donation program that will make all the arrangements to conveniently and quickly pick-up your car donation at no cost to you. They handle the title transfer requirements and will provide you with a tax deductible donation receipt when they pick-up your car.
The Lupus Foundation of America vehicle donation program is fast, easy and free. Use our online form to enter your vehicle information and a representative from Car Program LLC will contact you within four business days to discuss your donation.
Under new IRS regulations, your tax deduction is limited to an amount equal to the gross proceeds generated through the sale of your vehicle. An acknowledgement letter will be provided to you at the time of pick-up. Once your vehicle is sold, an additional receipt will be mailed to you by Car Program LLC if the gross proceeds are greater than $500.

Is my donation tax deductible?
The Lupus Foundation of America is recognized by the IRS as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your donation is generally tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please note: New legislation went into effect on January 1, 2005. See IRS.gov. If your donated vehicle is sold for more than $500, you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes, which contains the VIN, date of sale, gross proceeds of the sale and the date of your donation. However, each individual's tax situation is different and we recommend that you check with a tax professional to determine the amount of tax benefit, if any, you may receive from your donation.
Before I donate what do I need to provide?
Besides the car, we would like the title to the vehicle. If you do not have it, call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made.
My car is inoperable. Can I still donate it?
Yes, most vehicles are accepted, running or not (exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing). To find out if we can accept your vehicle fill out the online donation form.
How do I get my car picked up?
Arrangements will be made to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time. Please indicate that you would like your donation to go to the Southeast Florida Chapter.
