Volunteers Make it Happen!
LFA-DC/MD/VA was founded by volunteers in 1974, and to this day relies heavily on the support of loyal volunteers to promote the mission of this organization. If you want to invest your time and talents in an organization that is helping those affected by lupus, then we have a place for you! We have a very small staff and an enormous amount of work to be done.
There are many ways to volunteer with us. Our volunteers assist the Foundation in such activities as health fairs, educational classes, expos, community outreach projects, the email Buddies programs, stuffing envelopes, collating materials, translating foreign languages, etc. We always need help and you can partake in many different ways -- how much and how long is always up to you. We are very flexible!
Health fair volunteers attend health fairs in DC, Maryland and Virginia to increase public awareness about lupus and our various services. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering at an upcoming health fair!
