Lupus Support Group Facilitator Position Opening in Virginia Beach, VA

Lupus Foundation of America DC/MD/VA Chapter is seeking a licensed social worker to facilitate monthly support groups for people with lupus, their family, and friends.  Support groups allow attendees to voice concerns, share experiences and learn coping strategies for managing a chronic disease.  Below are qualifications and responsibilities for the position.  If you are interested, please email or fax resumes to Nalani Tarrant, Director of Patient Services at 202-787-5399 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Qualifications
 Master’s degree in Social Work
 A minimum of one year group facilitation experience

Responsibilities
 Facilitate support group meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital from 6:00pm – 7:30pm 10 times per calendar year (90 minutes per meeting).
 Establish a substitute in the event that you are unable to facilitate your group’s meeting.
 Develop a general understanding of lupus and management skills.
 Attendance at annual Virginia Lupus Summit sponsored by LFA-DMV
 Participation in the Virginia Annual Walk to End Lupus Now!

Compensation
$100 for each meeting/$50 if no attendees show up.
