Ian Harding: Thanks Mom!

By Ian Harding, Actor

My mom was diagnosed with lupus when I was 7. And while I’ve always known about lupus, I understand it now as an adult. I also now recognize all that my mom has done to support me as she continues to fight through her illness.

I have been working with the Lupus Foundation of America for the last two years to raise awareness of lupus and funds for research and education programs. The advocacy work I do is in honor of my mom. It’s just one way for me to say “Thanks mom!”

This Mother’s Day, I invite you to honor your mom while supporting the Foundation's programs and services. Make a donation in your mom’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America and send her a Bouquet of Hope e-card!

You can make a one-time tax deductible gift or celebrate your mother year round by selecting our monthly gift option! All donations processed by 5pm ET on May 9 will generate a Bouquet of Hope e-card that will be sent to the designated email address on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014.

By making a donation in honor or tribute to your mother, you will help the Lupus Foundation of America advance its mission to improve the quality of life of all people affected by lupus.

I hope that all those with lupus keep on fighting.  I know it’s a daily struggle. It’s terrible. But I know together we can solve the cruel mystery!

You can learn more about me and mom and my work with the Lupus Foundation of America in the latest issue of Lupus Now®, coming soon. Here's a sneak peek:
